I am a 2nd year PhD student at Virginia Tech in the Dairy Science Department under Dr. Rebecca Cockrum. I received my B.S.A. in Animal Science and a B.S.A. in Dairy Science in 2017 and an M.S. in Animal Science in 2019 all from the University of Georgia. My research interests focus on applied reproduction in dairy cattle. Previously I have researched the effects of a MLV BRD vaccine on cyclicity in heifers and the application of AMH as a tool in a reproduction program. Currently I am investigating the effects of altered photoperiod in dry cows on subsequent colostrum quality, milk production, reproduction and immune function post calving. Post graduation I plan to pursue a position in academia with an extension, teaching and research appointment.
